From the majestic Loire, through Cognac, to the out-of-the-ordinary and mysterious Gironde

NANTES - ST NAZAIRE - ANCENIS - ANGERS - ANCENIS - NANTES - Cognac - BORDEAUX - PAUILLAC - BLAYE - CADILLAC or LIBOURNE - BORDEAUX


Day 1: NANTES

Boarding between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. Dinner on board. Cruise on the Erdre, "the most beautiful river in France" according to the King Francois Ist. Overnight.


Day 2: NANTES – SAINT-NAZAIRE

Full board on board. Tour of Nantes. Nantes offers a stunning diversity of sites, including the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany, several historical neighborhoods, and magnificent wharfs. Excursion to the seaside town of Saint-Nazaire, a city by the sea. (A valid form of identification (passport) will be needed to access the site). Evening of dancing. Overnight.
 

Day 3: SAINT-NAZAIRE – ANCENIS

Full board on board. We’ll arrive in Ancenis in the early afternoon. Excursion to the Muscadet region. We’ll stop at the Château Cassemichère and the charming medieval city of Clisson. Evening of entertainment on board. Overnight.
 

Day 4: ANCENIS – ANGERS – ANCENIS

Full board on board. Tour of Angers, the capital of the historical Anjou province, distinguished not only by its legacy, but also by its modern nature. Evening of entertainment provided by the crew. Overnight.
 

Day 5: ANGERS – The Châteaux of the Loire Valley – ANCENIS

Full board. Full day’s excursion tothe Châteaux of the Loire Valley :  Château d'Azay-le-Rideau, Château de Villandry and Château d'Ussé. Gala evening. Cruise to Nantes through the night.
 

Day 6: NANTES - Cognac - BORDEAUX

Full board. Departure from Nantes to Cognac. Arriving in Cognac in the morning, guided tour of the city by tourist train and of a cognac merchants followed by a wine tasting. Visit of the 'musée des Arts du Cognac' (The Art of Cognac Museum), departure to Bordeaux. Boarding and crew presentation, welcome drink. Overnight. 


Day 7: BORDEAUX – PAUILLAC

Full board on board. Morning spent cruising. In the afternoon, excursion to the Médoc. Nestled between the ocean and an estuary, the Médoc is a renowned region where the most famous of all the red wines in the world is produced. Evening of entertainment. Overnight.
 

Day 8: PAUILLAC - Gironde Estuary- BLAYE

Full board on board. Morning spent cruising on the Gironde to the estuary. Arriving in Blaye, excursion on the Route de la Corniche. The narrow, picturesque road follows the Dordogne until arriving at the Gironde estuary. Evening of dancing. Overnight.
 

Day 9: BLAYE - CADILLAC (1) or LIBOURNE or BOURG - SAINT-EMILION

Full board on board. Morning spent cruising. In the afternoon, excursion to Saint-Emilion. Guided tour of Saint-Emilion's underground monuments, discovering the rich history of this medieval city. We'll finish up with a wine tasting. Entertainment provided by the crew. Overnight.
 

Day 10: CADILLAC or LIBOURNE (1) - BORDEAUX

Full board on board. Morning spent cruising. Guided tour of Bordeaux, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll leave by coach for a panoramic tour of the city, where you’ll be able to discover the main monuments, followed by a tour on foot of the old quarter. Gala evening. Overnight.
 

Day 11: BORDEAUX

Buffet breakfast on board. Disembark at 9:00 a.m.


For navigational safety reasons, the company and the captain are the only authorized persons who can modify the cruise itinerary. The cruise schedule may vary according to tides and arrival times at ports of call may be subject to change. (1) Depending on tides, the stopover in Cadillac might be replaced by Libourne or Bourg. The order of the visits can change. Alcohol can be dangerous to your health. Please drink in moderation.
